About The Project

Frost Bites was a work conceived through collaboration with the cast and director as a devised musical on the joys and heartaches of the holiday seasons. Six individuals escape their holiday celebrations to gather and share stories of loneliness, toxic relationships, trivial habits, and more. Having lost control of the spirit of the season, they embark on a journey together to find themselves and brave the holidays.

Leah and I worked close together on presenting covers to popular Christmas songs that mirrored some of the toxicity around forced time together, sharing time between divorced parents, binge eating, and some of the joys as well of giving back to the community, holiday traditions, and waiting for Santa Clause.

Each story or "bite" had to be personalized to each of the stories being told, turning the middle of the forest into lively casino halls, a snowy car ride home, a strip club, or even an internal battle with binge eating disorder. Using the ChamSys QuickQ and Qlab the bits felt connected and stands out as heartfelt and personal.
